SVRI Services Update: COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic

We have implemented operational changes in response to COVID-19 and will continue to do so as new information becomes available.

Image of a virus SVRI remains committed to the health and safety of our employees, the consumers we serve, and the community at large.  We have implemented operational changes in response to COVID-19 and will continue to do so as new information becomes available.  Staff members who can work from home have been requested to do so; personnel who must report to the office to perform their duties are diligently following social distancing and hygiene recommendations.  We will continue to serve our customers and our partners to the full extent possible during these exceptional circumstances.  Delays to service provision will be communicated to referral sources on a case-by-case basis.  Service impacts we are currently aware of are as follows:

  • Assistive Technology – When possible, assessment and implementation services will be conducted via telephone/video conference.  Face-to-face AT services may move forward if SVRI staff and the consumer agree that service delivery does not pose an unnecessary risk.
  • Benefits Analysis – Benefits reviews will be conducted via telephone/video conference whenever possible.  Face-to-face meetings may move forward if SVRI staff and the consumer agree that service delivery does not pose an unnecessary risk.
  • Eligibility and Order of Selection – Services will continue as usual; however, we expect delays in receiving records from medical facilities and school systems.
  • Vocational Evaluation – When possible, evaluation activities will be conducted via telephone/video conference.  Face-to-face evaluation services may move forward if SVRI staff and the consumer agree that service delivery does not pose an unnecessary risk.  Services may be delayed due to closures of schools and public venues (such as libraries) where services are conducted.
