Review Your Student Aid Report (SAR)
The Student Aid Report (SAR) will be generated from the federal processor, and made available to you on the FAFSA website after your FAFSA has been processed. If corrections are necessary, you can access your application online and re-submit the application. If you've filed a paper FAFSA, you'll receive a paper SAR that can be corrected and mailed back to the federal processor.
Return Requested Information Quickly
To avoid unnecessary delays in awarding your financial aid, please complete and return any forms requested by the Financial Aid Office as quickly as possible.
Verifying Your Information
Roughly one-third of financial aid applicants must submit signed copies of student and parents' federal tax forms. If you've been selected for verification, we will send you a verification worksheet and a request for tax information via mail. Students and their parents are encouraged to make copies of their federal tax forms and W-2s.
Accept or Decline Your Awards
Once you have provided all of the proper financial data and have verified that information (if requested), you will receive an e-mail notification of the financial aid you are eligible to receive. Carefully review the information enclosed and complete required actions that may be necessary for certain loan programs.
Once you are enrolled and have a Stout e-mail account set up you can view your award letter on Access Stout. In the Current Student section, visit "Check My Paperwork Status" for the electronic copy.
