Your Coaching minor will prepare you for a variety of roles in the coaching profession. You will study the physical, social, medical and psychological elements of coaching, giving you the skills to enrich the lives of your athletes.

In addition, your courses include an in-depth study of the methods and strategies of coaching individual and teams sports and an application of these principles in an actual coaching setting. You may also apply these principles to recreational programs.

Our program covers the topics of first aid, injury prevention, and care, athletic management, sports psychology and sociology, physiology and anatomy. You will apply these principles to coaching through a methods course in the sport of your choice, followed by a practicum experience in that same sport.
