Sarah Eileen Smith is a Lecturer for the Fashion Design & Development program. She is extremely passionate about encouraging learning and building community for the students in the fashion program.
Sarah Eileen completed her undergraduate degree in Apparel Design & Development at UW-Stout in 2012. After graduation she entered the industry working for Footlocker at their .com and Eastbay headquarters in Wausau, WI. After just a few short years, she moved into product line management for the Eastbay brand, championing all product development, sourcing, and distribution for products made and sold under the Eastbay name for both retail and TEAM apparel lines. After nearly 5 years with Footlocker, Sarah Eileen moved on to work for BioWorld out of their satellite office in Minneapolis. At BioWorld Sarah Eileen was the first technical designer to join the team, which allowed her to build structure and process for all categories and brands to streamline production.
After 8 years working in the fashion industry, Sarah Eileen began teaching and pursuing a Master of Science degree in Sustainable Management through the University of Wisconsin. She has taught fashion, retail, and marketing courses at Stout and was instrumental in launching the new Fashion Design & Development program for the College of Arts & Human Sciences in Fall of 2024.
