Understanding Your Student's Tuition Billing

Due dates, payment options and more
September 29, 2023

As fall semester moves on, we know there are many things on your mind – one of those things being tuition and fees. Here’s a little information for you and your student from Student Business Services about reminder dates, payment options and more.

Billing information is sent only to your student’s UW-Stout email account. More information is available online at Access Stout's Student-Service Student Center. Your student may also choose to grant authorized user access to a family member or a guest.

Student Business Services staff assist UW-Stout students in the Administration Building.

Tuition and Payment Due Dates

We post the current tuition and payment due dates at the start of each academic year.

  • Fall tuition: due the sixth Wednesday of the term
  • Winterm tuition: due the third Wednesday in January
  • Spring tuition: due the sixth Wednesday of the term
  • Summer tuition: due the third Wednesday in July

Payment Options

There are several payment options, including eCheck or credit card. For in-person payment, we accept cash, check, money order or cashier’s check. We also have a drop box located on the east side of the Administration Building. International students may pay through Flywire.

If you are mailing a check, please make the check payable to UW-Stout and include your student's full name and their campus seven-digit number in the memo line.

Checks can be mailed to:

Refunds

An eRefund is a refund from your student’s billing account that is electronically deposited into a designated United States checking or savings bank account. A refund may result from excess funds from loans, scholarships, grants, personal overpayments or as a result of withdrawals or drops.

Your student should establish an eRefund profile in TouchNet prior to receiving a refund. TouchNet can be easily accessed directly in the Access Stout's Student-Service Student Center, then by clicking on the yellow Pay/eRefund/Authorize button or by following our e-refund step-by-step guide.
