Following is a Q&A with one of the 1,379 students who received a diploma May 5 at UW-Stout.
Name: Rachel Hernandez
Hometown: Madison
Major: Golf enterprise management

Why did you choose UW-Stout? I chose Stout because of my major being so unique, and it really appealed to me. I also was able to continue in my athletics as well and was able to play college golf at a competitive level.
What are the biggest obstacles you faced in earning your degree? Managing my time and also figuring out a way to not graduate early so I could finish out my NCAA eligibility for golf.
What stands out among your college experiences? Being a successful college golfer with having the record for the golf team and also being a Scholar Athlete as well, with five to six 4.0 semesters.
What’s next? I accepted an internship with the Wisconsin State Golf Association for the summer and hopefully will find a job in the tournament administration part of the golf industry.
