Dotseth’s nomination stated: "Eric shows his commitment to the university daily by his constant politeness and dedication. Eric definitely is a standout among his peers. (He) is proactive at finding solutions to unusual situations. He smiles and thanks people -- both students and staff. Eric has a great attitude. I am very impressed with how he approaches his work. He doesn't complain. He just does it. Eric is a caring person and will even correct people in a very kind-hearted manner if something inappropriate is spoken. His family at home, and his family at UW-Stout, can stand proud of his many contributions to the campus and society."

Dotseth said he appreciated the award. “I pride myself on providing the best work I can do for my department and enjoy helping our students and staff in any way I can,” he said. “Facilities staff, and our contributions to the campus environment, are continuously operating in the background of the UW-Stout experience. It is very nice to be brought to the forefront and receive the recognition for our outstanding work.”

Each winner receives a certificate of recognition, a UW-Stout travel mug and a UW-Stout blanket.

Students, faculty and staff may nominate university staff members who demonstrate a commitment to excellence and the university community at the University Staff Employee Appreciation Award nomination form

The award, in its 15th year, was established by the Chancellor’s Office and is co-sponsored by the University Staff Senate.
